Reviews of this Book
On a satisfaction scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high) I give this book a 100!
Written for licensed clinical mental health providers trained in hypnotherapy, this textbook is well-researched, well-organized, and thoughtfully written. I find the information contained in this text immediately accessible and full of useful clinical interventions, all couched within a sensible and safe model of practice.
Both authors are master clinicians in their fields, and as such have:
- provided a very useful model for approaching and treating patients suffering difficult-to-treat variations of post traumatic stress disorders,
- clearly identified effective stages of treatment,
- elaborated in great detail the goals, rationales, clinical strategies, and hypnotherapeutic techniques which they have found most effective and helpful for patients at each stage,
- filled this book with useful case discussions illustrating the theory and practice of ego state therapy.
Their approach to the safe practice of hypnotherapy with these patients is inspiring. This is a book to which I will be referring throughout the rest of my career, as I continue to refine my treatment skills! I can’t recommend it highly enough.
